AVS manufactures two types of sleeving. AVSil® Silica Sleeving is designed for operating conditions up to 1800°F (982°C) and AVS Silicone Coated Fiberglass Sleeving is designed for operating conditions up to 500°F (260°C).
AVSil® Silica Sleeving
AVSil® Silica Sleeving is used for high temperature applications requiring outstanding thermal protection. It is made with a braided flexible tube of amorphous silica fiber with a silicon dioxide content over 96%. AVSil® Silica Sleeving is specifically designed for operating conditions up to 1800°F (982°C). A proprietary surface finish is applied to all AVSil® Silica sleeving to improve handling properties.
AVS Silicone Coated Fiberglass Sleeving
Silicone Coated Fiberglass sleeving is engineered from E-glass fiber that is knitted and braided into a flexible tubing that is coated with a high-performance silicone coating for improved abrasion and chemical resistance. AVS Silicone Coated Fiberglass sleeving can be used for operating conditions up to 500°F (260°C).
Two grades of AVS Silicone Coated Fiberglass sleeving are available: Industrial Grade (S-GSI) sleeving is knitted while the Aerospace Grade (S-GSA) sleeving is braided with a thicker wall thickness to meet Aerospace insulation requirements. Standard colors are iron oxide red and grey. Additional colors are available for specific grades.
