AVS Industries offers a diverse portfolio of high temperature needled insulation (non-woven) for all operating temperature ranges and end use applications.
All AVS needled insulation products are asbestos-free and contain no chemical binders. The fibers are mechanically attached during the needling process. Needled insulation is typically used in combination with woven textile fabrics to manufacture textile parts for variety of industrial applications like removal insulation covers, thermal pads, and protective heat shields. Industries that utilized needled insulation consist of foundry, steel, textile fabrication, and automotive.
The following needled mat insulation is available:
- Silica - Manufactured from 100% high silica (>95% SiO2) fibers and engineered to withstand operating temperatures up to 2000°F (1093°C)
AVSil® Needled Insulation
Made from amorphous silica, AVSil® Needled Insulation is ideal for a wide range of critical, high temperature applications. It comes in three thicknesses and is shrunk (Areal Shrinkage <4%). Our AVSil® Needled Insulation contains no shot (small spheres) and is designed to withstand temperatures up to 2000°F (1093°C). AVSil® Needled Insulation is comprised of non-respirable, 9-micron filament fibers that are mechanically bonded and contain no added resins or adhesives. Since it contains no harmful refractory ceramic fibers (RCF), AVSil® Needled Insulation is environmentally-friendly. It is extensively used in the Aerospace, Automotive and Industrial industries.
Potential applications include: thermal insulation pads, removable insulation covers, thermal curtains, insulation for furnaces, stress relieving blankets, aluminum rolling mills, glass processing, turbine insulation, engine exhaust insulation, and engine compartment insulation.
