AVSil® Satin Weave Silica Fabrics
AVSil® amorphous Silica Fabrics are high temperature fabrics used in a wide range of insulation and protection applications such as welding curtains, welding blankets and welding pads. AVSil® Silica Fabrics have a minimum silicon dioxide content of 96% and can be fabricated into many forms to withstand temperatures up to 1800°F (982°C). AVSil® Silica Fabrics are available with our standard proprietary surface treatment for improved handling and fray resistance. AVSil® Silica Fabrics are extensively used in the Power Generation (Nuclear Approved), Refineries, Shipbuilding and Repair, Metal Processing, Petro-Chemical, Aerospace and Automotive industries.
AVSil® Plain Weave Silica Fabrics
AVSil® Plain Weave Silica Fabrics are specifically designed for hot work protection applications, tadpole gasket constructions, and expansion joint constructions where 1800°F (982°C) capability is required. AVSil® Plain Weave Silica Fabrics are composed of texturized yarns and have improved insulating properties over the more common satin weave fabrics. AVSil® Plain Weave Silica Fabrics also have improved fabrication properties for certain applications due to less edge fraying because of its weave construction and the applied hydrocarbon (H) coating.
AVSil® Broken Twill Silica Fabrics
AVSil® Broken Twill Silica Fabrics are high temperature fabrics are ideal for making textile fabricated parts for high temperature welding, industrial, and automotive applications. The broken twill weave improves handling properties over the conventional satin weave construction. AVSil® Broken Twill Silica Fabrics can be treated with a proprietary surface finish to improve handing and thermal properties. AVSil® Broken Twill Silica Fabrics are typically used in the fabrication of removable insulation covers, welding curtains, drop cloths, stress relief blankets, protective screens/covers, thermal pads, furnace curtains, insulation mats and cable tray wraps.
AVSil® Specialty Silica Fabrics
AVSil® Specialty Silica Fabrics are the preferred choice for high temperature applications in the thermal protection of equipment and personnel. AVSil® standard-CH fabrics can be laminated with aluminized film or coated with silicone to obtain special performance properties.
The aluminized film is primarily used for its thermal reflectivity. Potential applications include: heat reflective curtains, manufacture of bellows, steel mill continuous casting inert atmosphere shroud and heat reflection in engine compartments. The silicone coated fabric is primarily used for abrasion resistance. Potential applications include: heat/abrasion harsh environments, slit tape protective wraps, insulation blanket protective covers, and special hot work protection in power plants. Both give gas and liquid impermeability. AVSil® Specialty Silica Fabrics can be fabricated with grommets and are are extensively used in the Power Generation, Refinery, Construction, Shipbuilding and Metal Processing industries.

Ultisil Silica Fabrics
Ultisil Silica Fabric is engineered with all of the outstanding qualities of AVSil® standard silica fabrics, with increased strength and flexibility at continuous temperatures ranges up to 2000°F (1093°C). Ultisil is impregnated with a proprietary high temperature surface treatment for improved thermal performance at elevated temperature.
AVSil® Shrunk Silica Fabrics
Our pre-shrunk satin weave silica textiles have the same thermal performance characteristics as our standard AVSil® silica fabrics in addition to low residual shrinkage. AVSil® Shrunk Silica Fabrics are used in industrial and aerospace applications that require minimum shrinkage at high temperatures. The areal shrinkage can be as low as 1% at 1,800°F (985°C). Potential applications include: backing for quartz heaters, tray liners for thermal processing of parts, manufacturing of aerospace insulation parts, and mold release in metal forging. AVSil® Shrunk Silica Fabrics are extensively used in the Power Generation, Aerospace, Electronics, Chemical Processing and Metal Processing industries.
